St Engenas congregants to attend Easter celebrations in Moria

Some congregants of the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) will make their way to Ga-Mamabolo next weekend.

Easter celebrations for Zion Christian Church (ZCC) congregants will continue in branches, as in recent years after the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.

This as congregants of ZCC St Engenas have confirmed they have received invites in their respective branches to attend the Easter weekend celebrations at their place of worship in Ga-Mamabolo (also known as Moria) outside Polokwane.

However, those of the ZCC’s other faction told Polokwane Observer that they have, yet again, not received invites.

Reasons for the suspension of large gatherings post the pandemic have not been communicated.

However, some ZCC congregants told Polokwane Observer they have been urged by various branch leaders to update their passports, opening prospects of a gathering beyond South African borders soon.

When Polokwane Observer yesterday enquired about a possible resumption, ZCC spokesperson Ephraim Mafetsa confirmed that should new developments arise, congregants will receive communication through invites sent to respective branches.

Traffic is expected to pick up on Easter weekend, and provincial head of traffic Jane Mulaudzi urged all motorists to abide by the rules of the road. “Be road safety ambassadors,” she added.
