TAKE NOTE: Testing to begin at the Seshego Water Treatment Plant

During this period, the contractor will be rigorously testing various components of the plant to verify its integrity, functionality, and adherence to safety standards.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality says testing and commissioning procedures at the Seshego Water Treatment Plant will begin today (March 15) until March 29.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said these procedures are important to ensure the optimal functioning and reliability of the water treatment infrastructure in the area.

“Testing and commissioning are vital steps in the process of bringing a water treatment plant online. During this period, the contractor will be rigorously testing various components of the plant to verify its integrity, functionality, and adherence to safety standards. Additionally, the commissioning process involves fine-tuning the equipment and systems to ensure smooth operation once the plant is fully operational,” Selala explained.

He added that the testing may result in periodic disruptions to the water supply in Seshego and Perskebult but that once operational, the plant will bring an additional 10 megaliters of water to the community, providing much-needed relief to the water system.

“This increased capacity will help meet the growing demand for water and improve access to clean and safe drinking water for all residents.”
