Thohoyandou Home Affairs bids farewell to official

After 22 years of dedicated service, manager of the Thohoyandou Home Affairs office, and acting Vhembe district manager Zamba Maluleke retires.

LIMPOPO – A farewell function for the dedicated manager of the Thohoyandou Home Affairs office, and acting Vhembe district manager Zamba Maluleke was held last Tuesday in the Thulamela library hall, with co-workers, friends and family wishing him all the best after retiring.

Benda Mphephu described Maluleke as a hard worker and dedicated manager who wanted clients coming to the office to be treated in a dignified and professional manner.

“He didn’t want any clients coming to the office, and return home dissatisfied. At some point, he even used his own resources to help clients where there was a need,” said Mphephu.

Retiring Home Affairs official in Thohoyandou, Zamba Maluleke urges his colleagues to follow in his footsteps.

Maluleke said he was humbled by the comments and words of recognition. “I want to appreciate all my managers who supported my dedication and commitment in order to be a solution to compromised services delivery. I want to thank all our stakeholders for sharing the information that led to effective service delivery in our time. To my leadership, my work at Home Affairs was like traveling on a gravel road, but the passion for my work kept me going,”

He worked for the department for 22 years and said his passion to serve the community molded him.

“I never complained , because I was changing the lives of the people through birth, marriage and death registrations, IDs and all the other services Home Affairs offers,” remarked. “As I exit the public service, I urge my colleagues to follow in my footsteps and help our communities. Let’s not look at the money, but give solutions to the service-challenged communities.
