Auckley: Author of The Unbeloved Daughter

Mndhlovu explained that she has personally experienced a breakthrough in overcoming all of life's challenges.

POLOKWANE – “Before I wrote the book, I’ve had so many young ladies confide in me about their challenges in life. How they felt unloved by their own mothers because of the way they were isolated, treated different compared to their other siblings, not receiving support and some even given to men they don’t want for the sake of money,” author of ‘The Unbeloved Daughter’ Auckley Mndhlovu said.

Mndhlovu (40) is the second of six siblings, originally from Namakgale and now residing in Polokwane describes herself as a devoted child of God, working as an admin clerk in one of Limpopo’s largest luxury coach companies.

“What motivated me to be start writing is that I’ve had people confiding in me and also putting it on social media on how church people are so ‘evil’ and therefore gave up on serving the God they once believed in etc. Lately we see how people are being initiated by becoming sangomas (traditional healers), and I believe that with most of them, it’s not something they really wanted but end up giving in because of culture, fear or not knowing of other alternatives of receiving help,” she said.

Mndhlovu further explained that she has personally experienced a breakthrough in overcoming all of these challenges. “I felt I should share what helped me with someone out there who’s going through what I’ve went through, to give them hope that there is a way out. I believe as women we can become better mothers and wives irrespective of how we were raised. And I am a living testimony of that.”

What will the reader benefit from reading the book:
• Readers will learn how to demonstrate resilience during challenging times.
• They will learn how to overcome a toxic mother/daughter relationship.
• How to overcome and deal with church hurt and rejection.
• How to escape being initiated as a sangoma.
• Not using marriage as an escape plan from family challenges.
• The power of Faith in God to heal and deliver.
• The power of forgiveness and reconciliation.

Alongside her professional pursuits, Mndhlovu co-owns Legacy Boutique in Polokwane. “Driven by a spirit of entrepreneurship, I established my brand, Auckley M Cosmetics Unstoppable Lipstick during the challenging the pandemic, a venture that has been rapidly gaining momentum. “I also initiated a donation-drive early last year where I would personally provide food for those in need on the streets. I envision this effort evolving into a robust foundation.”
