Olifantspoort plant down due to Specon pipe leak

The Polokwane Municipality has confirmed that due to a Specon pipe leak, the Olifantspoort plant has been down.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality says it has been notified about the water supply stoppage from the Olifantspoort line.

According to Lepelle Northern Water (LNW), this is due to a stoppage from the Olifantspoort Plant as a result of Specon pipe leak.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala confirmed that that the Ebenezer line has also been off today since 06:00 as a result of planned power outages by
Greater Tzaneen Municipality.

Selala says LNW has estimated 6 hours for the completion of repairs.

“It might take some time for water flow to reach all areas of supply once Olifantspoort Plant starts pumping”, Selala said.

The Olifantsoort plant will be off again on the following dates between 06:00 and 12:00 :

o 19 Nov 2023
o 21 Nov 2023
o 23 Nov 2023
o 25 Nov 2023
o 27 Nov 2023
o 29 Nov 2023
o 01 Dec 2023 (until further notice)

The municipality apologizes for the inconvenience caused.
