Constant electrical trips to affect water supply to Polokwane

The Polokwane Municipality said both the Ollifantspoort and Ebenezer lines have returned to service with the hope that reservoir levels will improve soon.

POLOKWANE – Residents in the city who are receiving water supply are urged to use it sparingly as more supply issues are expected.

The Polokwane Municipality reports that constant electrical tripping on the power line that supplies pump station 3 at the Olifantspoort Plant and scheduled power cuts on the Ebenezer line are negatively affecting water supply to the city

“These challenges have left reservoir levels strained and affecting water supply to the entire municipal area, particularly high lying areas,” municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said.

He added that after experiencing power outages this morning, both lines have returned to service with the hope that reservoir levels will improve soon.
