Conditions in Polokwane to improve midweek

A cut-off low will bring significant rainfall to the province on Monday and Tuesday before conditions improve from Wednesday onward.

POLOKWANE – A cut-off low system is expected to exit the country from Tuesday, taking with it cold and rainy conditions.

Highs of 16ºC and 13ºC is expected in Polokwane on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, before conditions improve from Wednesday onward with highs of between 19ºC and 26ºC for the rest of the week.

The cut-off low will bring significant rainfall with it, particularly on Monday and Tuesday, according to the South African Weather Service.

“Widespread, tropically sourced rainfall will set in over the central and eastern half of the country with heavy falls and flooding a distinct likelihood,” their statement reads.

There is an 84% chance of rain on Monday and AccuWeather predicts considerable cloudiness and cooler conditions with a couple of morning showers followed by occasional rain and drizzle in the afternoon.

A 60% chance of rain is forecast for Tuesday, resulting in cloudy and cool conditions with a little rain in the afternoon.

Conditions will improve from Wednesday, resulting in partly cloudy conditions for the rest of the week.

Minimum temperatures will range between 9ºC and 16ºC this week with a minimal chance of rain from Thursday onward.
