The victim arrived at home and informed his family that he had been stabbed by his 20-year-old girlfriend before succumbing to his injuries in hospital a while later.

LIMPOPO – A 20-year-old woman will appear before the Magatle Periodical Court on Friday for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend to death with a knife.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the victim, a 32-year-old man, arrived at home in Khureng Village on Wednesday night, bleeding and seriously injured.

The man is said to have informed his family that he was stabbed by his girlfriend and an ambulance was summoned.

“The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The police were alerted and began with investigations, which included opening a case of murder,” his statement read.

Ledwaba said the suspect was tracked down and arrested by the investigating team in the early hours of this morning (October 19).

“Investigations will continue into the circumstances that led to this brutal act but domestic violence cannot be ruled out,” he said.

The provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe condemned the incident and urged the public to resort to lawful means when dealing with relationship challenges.
