Strong winds in Louis Trichardt leads to damage of two cars

Strong winds left the owners of two damaged cars believing that mother nature played a prank that went terribly wrong.

LIMPOPO – Gushing winds that swept through the region on September 12 took a toll in Louis Trichardt when a huge tree in Joubert Street tipped over and came crashing down on top of two parked cars.

The owners of the vehicles told CV they thought Mother Nature “appeared to have decided to play a prank that had gone terribly wrong”.

Elelwani Nemakonde from Makhado Park said she was working at a construction site when the incident happened.

“It happened during lunchtime. I heard a loud noise and when I turned around, I saw a cloud of dust and someone told me that a tree had fallen on my car. I thought I was dreaming. I had bought the car only two years ago,” she said.

The owner of the other vehicle, Phenius Malange, the station officer at the Makhado Fire Department, said they had responded to the call to assist the motorists.

“We received a call that a tree had fallen on top of a vehicle. Our task was only to cut down the tree and remove the branches. This was no one’s fault. It was merely an old tree that fell unexpectedly,” he said.
