Mopedy returns to music circuit with brand new hip-hop single

LIMPOPO – Hip-hop fans can look forward to a new hit by Jackson Morema, better known as Mopedy, who returned to the music circuit with Super T.

After a hiatus of nearly five years, Mopedy from Makotopong outside Mankweng is back and ready for a new chapter.

Mopedy is the founder of the Limpopo-based music recording company, Verbal Silence Media and Publishing.

He admits that he temporarily lost focus on his musical career after he ventured into a new passion, dedicating his time behind the scenes to shooting documentaries and building a successful corporate cinematography business.

A vehicle accident in February this year, however left him bedridden for three challenging months, he told CV It was during this period of introspection that he realised he hadn’t completed his mission of delivering great music to his loyal fans and continuing to champion the Sepedi culture.

This revelation, he said, ignited his determination to return to the music business with renewed enthusiasm.

On a significant occasion on his birthday, September 4, Mopedy gifted his fans with a brand-new single, Super T.

This song is a heartfelt homage to a historic era in Limpopo, where taxis had names and booming sound systems, serving as the primary mode of transportation for young people seeking enjoyment.

Mopedy fondly reminisces about this time, revealing that it was during these taxi journeys that he fell head over heels in love with music.

Super T not only encapsulates this period but also pays tribute to the vital role played by the taxi industry in shaping Limpopo’s vibrant entertainment scene.
