Free rabies vaccination drive in Polokwane

Animal health technician Dr Desiree Mafokoane told Polokwane Observer that the rabies vaccine protects dogs and cats from a swift and unpleasant death should they contract the disease.

POLOKWANE – To eradicate the prevalence of rabies, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has set up a schedule to offer free vaccinations for dogs and cats.

“Rabies is a viral disease that causes inflammation of the brain in humans and other mammals. Early symptoms can include fever and tingling at the site of exposure. We invite pet owners in Polokwane to bring their pets for free vaccines at the selected areas in the city.”
