Limpopo couple found murdered in shack

The bodies of a 36 and 38-year-old man and woman were found with bullet wounds in a shack in Ga-Maroga village.

LIMPOPO – The police in Limpopo are calling on the public to assist with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) responsible for the brutal murder of a Driekop couple.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said a report was received on August 31 regarding the discovery of the couple’s bodies in a shack in Ga-Maroga village.

“When police arrived at the scene, they found the bodies of a man and a woman, aged 38 and 36-years-old, with bullet wounds on their bodies. They were found on a bed covered with a blanket,” his statement read.

Maluleke said the motive for the gruesome killing is unknown and that the circumstances surrounding the incident is being investigated.

“The deceased’s identities will be released after their next of kin have been notified. Anyone with information that can assist the police with the investigation can contact the investigating officer Detective Warrant Officer Daniel Mohlala at 079 875 7771, at the nearest police station, through the crime stop number on 08600 10111 or via the MySAPSapp,” he said.

The provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has condemned the incident and called on the community to assist police with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect(s).
