Sho’t Left Travel Week is almost here

LIMPOPO – Media personnel from various media houses took a Sho’t Left across Limpopo during the recent Sho’t Left Travel Week.

Travellers are encouraged to visit Limpopo during the Sho’t Left Travel Week seven day promotion of discounted travel and tourism-related deals and packages from September 4-10.

According to South African Tourism Marketing and Communication Manager, Mabeka Makola, Travel Week allows South Africans to buy affordable travel deals and packages.

“We have visited various tourist attractions to promote the week, and area creating awareness to showcase products that will be available on our Sho’t Left website. We visited quite a number of establishments in the Magoebaskloof area, when we did an adrenalin adventure activity, and learned more about our culture and heritage.

“It was quite an inspiring and informative trip. Indeed Phalaborwa proved that it is better than the south as the name suggests, given the number of exciting activities from gin tasting and even boat cruises, which many people would not expect in this area.”

He said Sho’t Left Travel Week is necessary because South African Tourism has to ensure that South Africans from all walks of life, young and old, whether they have a great budget or a limited budget, consider traveling.

“After all, it’s good for the mind and good for people to connect with their loved ones and recharge. We encourage people to plan because we understand that when people go on a trip they either decide whether they are going to take their loved ones or they are going with their families.”

He said Limpopo is vast, and has a lot to offer.

“We are aware of the constraints people have in terms of time, as most people prefer to visit activities that are situated closer to them, and usually people will utilise a weekend to do so which gives them at most three days to travel.”

Vhembe also offers many activities, from hiking to boat cruises, he said “We know that South Africans are looking forward to the warmer season and we are moving forward to spring. It is typically a time when many people go away for the school holiday, so this is an opportunity for them to take time out and visit the Sho’t Left website so they can see what Sho’t Left Travel Week has in store for them.”
