Tzaneen security company owner shot during armed robbery

The suspects fled from the scene in a white SUV and it was after they fled that the victim realised he was shot and was taken to the hospital. 

LIMPOPO – The provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has ordered the police in Tzaneen to hunt down a group of unknown suspects who robbed a security company owner in Tzaneen on Monday afternoon.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the victim was in his parked vehicle near the municipality when unknown armed suspects approached him.

“The suspects pointed firearms at the victim and demanded money.  They fired shots before robbing him of an undisclosed amount of money,” his statement read.

Lebwaba said the suspects fled from the scene in a white SUV and it was after they fled that the victim realised he was shot and was taken to the hospital.

“Police were notified and a case of robbery with a firearm and attempted murder was opened and police began their investigation to trace and arrest the suspects,” he said.
