Limpopo ANC Women’s League elects new leadership

The provincial league is hard at work with the preparations of the 2024 General Election, and encourages all women in Limpopo to vote.

POLOKWANE – The new leadership of the ANC Women’s League in Limpopo, must ensure that all women in and out of organs of state in provincial and local governments find expression and support in the resolutions made by the ruling party.

This is a part of a range of wider duties expected from the recently elected league chairperson, Mamedupi Teffo who also serves as the mayor of the Capricorn District Municipality.

Teffo was elected unopposed on July 30 and says she is a staunch advocate for the fight against gender oppression.

“Stick together and fight all forms of gender oppression. The struggle for the emancipation and empowerment of women continues, and the women’s league is at the forefront of that struggle in ensuring that programmes of infrastructure development, basic services, housing, and local economic development, safety and security, and sport – address the specific needs of women,” she said.

The provincial league is hard at work with the preparations of the 2024 General Election, and encourages all women in Limpopo to vote.

“We also call for urgency in the party to further address the equal representation and empowerment of women from all walks of life,” she added. “Let us wear our green blouses during Women’s Month and commemorate this event.”
