UPDATE: Water supply to Polokwane restored

Lepelle Northern Water had to stop pumping to Polokwane on Thursday from both the Olifantspoort and Ebenezer lines due to pipe leaks.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality says water supply to the city has been restored following pipe leaks at both the Olifantspoort and Ebenezer plants on Thursday.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala confirmed that repairs were completed on both lines on Thursday afternoon and that flow to the city is expected to improve.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality says water supply to all areas will be affected by pipe leaks at both the Ebenezer and Olifantspoort plants.

As a result, Lepelle Northern Water have had to stop pumping from both lines as their teams continue with repairs.

“Estimated restoration time from the Olifantspoort Plant will take six hours while the team has not established restoration time from the Ebenezer line,” municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said.

He added that water tankers will be deployed by the municipality to assist all affected areas with temporary relief.
