WATCH: Six hour repair time for yet another leak at the Olifantspoort Plant

The Polokwane Municipality said all areas of supply would be affected and that it will take some time for reservoirs to fill after repairs are completed.

POLOKWANE- The Polokwane Municipality said water supply to the city will be restored once repairs have been completed at the Olifantspoort Plant.

The municipality received an update from Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) that the plant was off due to a pipe leak on the Specon line and that all areas of supply would be affected.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said the estimated time for completion of repairs is six hours from 10h10.

“It is worth noting that it might still take some time before flow reaches all areas after restoration,” his statement read.

Selala added that the reservoirs were still recovering from a stoppage at the Ebenezer Plant on Thursday due to a power failure in the area.
