SAB promo play-offs postponed amid legal battles

Safa Limpopo league provincial coordinator Refiloe Khoza said the postponement was a result of the Capricorn Regional Association who is yet to announce their regional champions.

LIMPOPO- The long-awaited SAB League provincial promotional play-off matches that were scheduled to take place at Nkowankowa Stadium on July 22 and 23 have been postponed, amid legal battles.

According to the Safa Limpopo league provincial coordinator, Refiloe Khoza, the postponement was a result of the Capricorn Regional Association who is yet to announce their regional champions.

“An arbitration case between Mohlabile United and Lebash FC is also pending in the Capricorn Regional League.

“The matter was initially set down for a hearing on July 18 but the hearing was postponed to July 24,” she remarked.

The play-offs will now be staged at the same venue, on July 29 and 30.

Teams from the five districts will battle it out for the two Safa second-division places. The top two teams will be promoted to the second division ABC Motsepe League.

Vhembe District will be represented by Mukula Young Santos. The teams from the other districts are Nkowankowa Continentals (Mopani), King Born FC (Sekhukhune) and Lebash Academy or Mohlabile United (Capricorn).

Waterberg District will represented by Sunrise FC. Each team will play four matches in a round-robin format over two days.

Asked about their level of readiness for the play-offs, Santos coach Taylor Nevhutanda said they were ready for whatever heat they might come across.
