Limpopo man charged with rape found hanging from tree

A woman collecting firewood discovered the feared Tshisamphiri Netshirembe's body and alerted the authorities.

LIMPOPO- The body of Tshisamphiri Netshirembe (29) who according to sources was feared among many villagers in Mbaleni and Makwarela, was discovered hanging from a tree in a veld near his home in Ha-Magidi last Wednesday.

Netshirembe had previously been charged with burglary, rape and theft for several incidents that occurred around Sibasa and Thohoyandou.

According to the information, a woman collecting firewood discovered Netshirembe’s body and alerted the authorities. Acting police spokesperson in Vhembe region, Sergeant Vuledzani Dathi said the police in Thohoyandou have opened an inquest after the deceased was identified by his brother, Mmboneni Netshirembe.

Meanwhile, another inquest was opened after the discovery of a woman’s body inside the local graveyard at Mbaleni village on July 14 at 09:30.

“Information received suggests that the police were alerted of a body in the graveyard. The woman was wearing a black and white dress, with white sandals. The police appeal to anyone who is able to assist with any information relating to the woman’s death.”
