Water supply to Polokwane to be restored following Specon line leak

The Polokwane Municipality said it will continue to monitor affected areas and assist with water tankers.

POLOKWANE – Water supply to all areas within the Polokwane Municipality will be restored soon.

This is the latest update following another supply interruption due to a pipe leak at the Olifantspoort Plant on Wednesday.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said Lepelle Northern Water has completed repairs of a leak on the Specon pipe.

“The municipality will continue to monitor affected areas and assist with water tankers,” his statement read.

POLOKWANE – Apart from daily water cuts to the city, the Polokwane Municipality as just reported yet another leak on the Specon line.

As a result, the Olifantspoort Plant had to be stopped causing further supply issues to the city.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said they will provide regular updates on repairs and restoration of supply once received from Lepelle Northern Water (LNW).

“For now, LNW said more details will be shared as soon as the extent of damage has been established,” his press release read.

Selala said temporary relief will be provided through water tankers in the meantime.
