Festival for wine lovers pencilled for September
The Polokwane Ultimate Wine Experience is aimed at wine lovers, both seasoned sommeliers and those new to the world of wine.
POLOKWANE- The Polokwane Ultimate Wine Experience festival will be hosted in the city on September 2 at Irecks Polokwane Functions and Events.
The founder and owner of JNW Wine SA, Jay Nkosi told Polokwane Observer that the festival will provide an opportunity for residents to broaden their horizons in terms of wine varieties, and the intricacies involved in tasting and selecting wine.
“We’re connected to local traditions, music, gastronomy and of course, the best of JNW wines.
“This festival is especially dedicated to local wineries such as ours; one or more unique wines produced in the area; a single grape variety and autochthonous grapes. We will also be showcasing all the wines produced in Limpopo.
“Big or small, wine festivals are always joyful events for wine enthusiasts and producers.”
Planning for a similar feel to the Durban July, Nkosi added that the festival is aimed at wine lovers, both seasoned sommeliers and those new to the world of wine.
“I was born in this province and I realised soon that our people need to expand their knowledge about wine and food-pairing, however, on this particular event we bring fashion, horses, unlimited wine tasting and delicious food. Our aim is to show other provinces that we can be just as good,” he said. Patrons should expect unlimited wine sipping, great food, and live music from local artists.
