One person killed in R521 head-on collision involving two trucks
Reckless driving has been cited as a possible cause of a head-on collision involving two trucks on the R521.
POLOKWANE – The scene of a head-on collision on the R521 had still not been cleared this morning following the fatal incident on Friday afternoon.
The scene was still being attended to by authorities this morning. Traffic officials were on scene to direct traffic.

Traffic was brought to a standstill as emergency services attended to the scene where one person was killed and two others sustained serious injuries.

The Department of Transport reports that a truck was travelling towards Polokwane when it collided head-on with another truck travelling from Dendron.
“A minibus then crashed into one of the trucks following the collision,” acting spokesperson Mafenya Lediga said.
He confirmed that one of the truck drivers died while the other truck driver and the driver of the minibus will be treated for serious injuries.
“Reckless driving has been cited as a possible cause of the incident,” he said.
Meanwhile, four people were killed during another head-on collision between two sedans in Xitlhelani village outside Malamulele this morning.
One person is said to have sustained serious injuries.
Lediga said reckless and drunken driving were cited as a possible cause of the incident.
