Low water pressure frustrates residents across Polokwane

The Polokwane Municipality said they will monitor the situation and provide temporary relief to affected areas in the meantime.

POLOKWANE – Low water pressure has been reported across the city leaving residents frustrated.

The Polokwane Municipality said they are aware of the issue that is affecting most areas and is doing everything to ensure that consumers receive water.

Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) said the low pressure is due to reduced pumping from the Olifantspoort High Lift Pump Station as a result of the failure of two pumps.

“LNW said their team is working on resolving the challenge, however, it is not clear yet when the plant will be able to operate at full capacity,” municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said.

He added that the municipality will monitor the situation and assist affected areas.

“Areas receiving supply are urged to use water sparingly,” he said.
