Woman arrested south of the Nyl toll plaza with illegal cigarettes
A 44-year old women was arrested for the possession of illicit cigarettes estimated at a value of R240 000.
MOKOPANE -Members of the Waterberg District Flying Squad arrested a 44-year-old woman while patrolling the N1 south of the Nyl plaza, last Friday at around 09:00.
According to information, the police spotted a suspicious bakkie, and upon searching the vehicle found 1 200 cartons of illegal cigarettes with an estimated street value of R240 000.
The woman was arrested and charged for the possession of illicit cigarettes.
Provincial police commissioner, Lt Gen Thembi Hadebe applauded members for being on high alert and effective the woman’s arrest. She is expected to appear in the Mokopane Magistrate’s Court soon.
