Emergency water shutdown to affect several areas in Polokwane

Maintenance work on the Sandriver north pump station will leave several areas without water between 10:00 and 18:00 today (May 12.)

POLOKWANE – Water supply to various areas in Polokwane, including Ladanna and Annadale, will be restored once maintenance has been completed.

The Polokwane Municipality says pumping of water from the Sandriver north pump station has been affected due to maintenance work.

Affected areas include Annadale, the Army Base, Emdo, Industrial Area, Ladanna, Lesedi Park, Luthuli Park, Mahlako’a Phala, Mahlasedi Park, Polokwane Ext. 8 for a period of eight hours between 10:00 and 18:00.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala says these areas will be assisted with temporary relief by means of water tankers for the duration of the shutdown.

“Water supply will be restored once repairs are completed. All water and sanitation problems can be reported to the municipal call centre on 015 290 2000/2458/015 023 5000; the water and sanitation helpline 015 290 2490 or via WhatsApp on 083 824 9886,” his statement read.
