Cuban lawyer heals with her hands
Cuban lawyer and owner of Healing Hands Beauty, Adiana Roque says massages heal backache and bring joy to many.
POLOKWANE – Healing Hands Beauty is 100% owned by a Cuban lawyer, Adiana Roque, who recently moved to South Africa in the hope of greener pastures.
Her move to South Africa was motivated by her family who moved to Musina in 2009, and a lack of jobs in Cuba.
Upon her arrival in South Africa in January 2021, Roque worked at a beauty spa owned by her brother in Musina before she moved to the city.
She then used the knowledge she acquired from working in her brother’s spa and her passion for beauty to open her beauty spa.
The spa opened its doors in early January in Fauna Park, Polokwane.
“I didn’t have a job, so I thought it would be much better if I start a business so that I can be able to pay my bills as well.”
Roque offers customers services such as a body massage, facials, waxing, and pedicures and manicures.
Customers can also select the type of music they want to listen to during their massage. Asked what she loves about her beauty business, Roque said the main aim is to have relaxed and happy customers.
“My massages even heal back aches, and bring joy to many. Remember, a relaxed body is a productive body.”
One of her customers, Elizabeth Makgatho, says she can testify to this.
“It is only my second time here, but I can tell you that I already feel at home. The treatment here is excellent.”
