POLOKWANE – A man collapsed and died during soccer practice at a field adjacent to the Polokwane Cricket Club on Wednesday afternoon (March 15).
The man, believed to be a government official, was part of a soccer game taking place at around 16:45 when he suddenly collapsed.
Emergency services arrived and declared the man dead on scene.
By the time the Polokwane Observer arrived on the scene, forensic pathologists and police were leaving with the body.
The Office of the Premier’s media liaison officer Jimmy Malebti could not confirm any details about the incident and added that they would first need to establish which department the deceased was attached to.
Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo did not have any information at his disposal at the time of publishing.
