POLOKWANE – Pep Store Limpopo Mall recently donated sanitary towels to Taxila Secondary School.
In a fight to end period poverty Pep donated packed boxes of sanitary towels to the school as they are now venturing into a partnership between the store and the school.
Learners were most appreciative of the donation and hoped that people donate at Pep stores so that Pep can donate to their schools and other schools.
Pep store manager Esther Seema said they saw fit to sponsor one of the best schools in the city because they believe in girl pride.
“We partner with various schools in Polokwane to help remove the burden of those who cannot afford it by making it easy to access free sanitary towels in their school yard.”
Learner Bokang Mashishi says they are proud of their partnership with the store in the fight to tackle period poverty.
“We are appreciative that Pep sponsored us with sanitary towels so we can address the worldwide and socioeconomic problem of period poverty, and we hope that the public would support them in their initiatives to further the cause.”
Donations like these go beyond simply providing a girl with a pack of sanitary towels when they are in need; instead, they open discussions where learners are provided with a platform to hear about other people’s experiences.
