Mahlatze Vokal is proud to introduce his new band

Vokal and his band had the honour to perform at a few events, including the Mapungubwe Festival, and says they are excited for what's to come.

POLOKWANE – Solo artist Mahlatze Vokal decided it was time to be part of a larger group as people are often stronger together.

Now, he is ready to intoduce his new band to the public, and they already had a few opportunities to stun the crowd as a group.

The band consists of five young men from Lebowakgomo; bassist Bernard Chauke, drummer Adoration Mabasa, lead guitarist Rodney Sekgololo, first on keys Lerato Chuene, and second on keys Goodwill Raphela, who all started to work with Vokal in August.

Vokal describes the band as a humble team that is super talented with a lot of room to grow and improve even more as time goes by.

“Normally, at events we perform a lot of cover songs that the audience is mostly familiar with, especially at corporate events for entertainment purposes. We also perform some of our original songs to introduce a new vibe to the audience,” Vokal explained.

Their recent performance was at the Mapungubwe Festival, which was hosted at the Polokwane Cricket Club, as well as at the Miss Capricorn Pageant at The Ranch Resort.

“The Mapungubwe Festival was a success and we were impressed with the way we played since it was our first time playing in front of such a big crowd as a band.”

Vokal concluded that as an artist who’s been in the industry for more than a decade, a band plays a very important role to him as an artist, because one is able to explore the stage and engage the crowd even more.

“A band can make the audience sing and dance along and just create a better concert experience,” he added.
