The festive season parades into the Mall of the North

Dancers, dogs, mascots and smiling faces were on display at the Mall of the North during their Christmas parade.

POLOKWANE – To create a merry mood among shoppers and tenants, the festive season was officially welcomed at Mall of the North during a community Christmas parade on Saturday.

The Fun Dance Company, Northern Ballet Academy, Top Form Dance Company, Gymstars, Ms Herbacks and the Mascots, Creative Collective as well as Bevlin Dog Training formed part of the parade, where they all performed synchronised show-stopper dance moves.

The parade started at the food court entrance as the dancers and entertainers danced their way to the area in front of Edgars where they made a stop for everyone to enjoy their performances.

The first performance was from Bevlin Dog Training where the dogs gave an outstanding and impressive performance with their trainers, followed by dance performances from the local dance schools as the girls showed off their beautiful and flexible ballet, contemporary and gymnastic dance styles.

Mall of the North marketing manager Marí Nel said that the parade went as planned.

“The mall management couldn’t have been more grateful to everyone who took part in the parade. It was so beautiful and worth all those rehearsals and preparations prior to the day. A very well done to all the dance school teachers and their students, as well as the mascot and stilt walker companies for the hard work they put in. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and we hope to see you soon at the mall for your festive shopping,” Nel concluded.

Nel also thanked Kryolan for sponsoring the dancers with the Christmas make-up as well as Spur who sponsored the dancers with lunch after the long and fun parade.

During and after the parade, shoppers got plenty of opportunities to take photos with Santa and mascots such as Donald Duck, Daisy, Mickey Mouse, Hippo, as well as Spider-Man.
