Zazi Foundation gives back to women and girls in Thohoyandou

400 women and young girls received clothes and sanitary pads from the Zazi Foundation ahead of the festive season.

LIMPOPO – Christmas came early for over 400 unemployed women and young girls in the rural villages under the jurisdiction of Thovhele Gole Mphaphuli, thanks to the Zazi Foundation in Thohoyandou for donating clothes and pads.

Initiative founder, Mpho Makosholo said life was tough for those living in rural areas, especially unemployed women and young girls who cannot afford sanitary products.

“Our foundation helps rural-based learners with shoes and uniforms through our back-to-school campaign, so that they may go to school with proper uniforms. We provide extra lessons for primary learners in all subjects, and we also cater for learners with disabilities or learners with special needs from Gr R-7,” Makosholo said.

She was joined by her co-workers when they handed over clothes for Christmas and sanitary pads to 400 women and young girls.

Villages that benefitted from the donation includes Mbilwi-Thondoni, Tshikweta, Makanga, Ha-Ralushai and Magovhani under the banner of women in the rural village of Mbilwi-Makanga who also received packs of pads and clothes for her children.

Angelina Thikhathali said she was thankful for the Zazi Foundation for the donation.

The traditional leader in Mbilwi-Hatshimangevillage, Vhamusanda Mashoneleo Tshimange, said after he heard of Zazi Foundation’s helping hand, she decided to approach them for a donation of pads to rural unemployed women and young girls.
