Explosion at substation leaves several areas in Polokwane the dark

Several areas in the city, including the CBD and Nirvana are without power and the municipality said supply will be resolved once the issue has been located and fixed.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality says several ares in the city are without power due to an explosion at the Epsilon substation.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said the incident is currently being investigated.

The following areas have been affected:

– Central Business District (CBD) around Limpopo Mall
– Nirvana
– Rainbow Park
– Superbia
– Westenburg

Selala said power supply will be restored once the fault has been located and resolved.

An estimated time of restoration was not given.
