POLOKWANE – A truck driver who is reported to have lost control of his vehicle died after crashing into the base of a mountain along the R37 this morning (October 8).

Unconfirmed reports suggests the driver was carrying coal from Hwange in Zimbabwe to Steelpoort when the incident occured.
Transport spokesperson Mafenya Lediga said the possible cause of the incident has been cited as driver fatigue and said the road has been cleared.
“We are advising motorists to take regular breaks when driving long distances to avoid fatigue,” he said.
