Four caught with alleged stolen solar panels arrested immediately

The police received a tip-off that led them to Disteneng outside Polokwane, where they discovered four men in the possession of big solar panels.

LIMPOPO – In the early hours of Saturday (November 5) morning, the police received a tip-off that a group of people were in the possession of alleged stolen solar panels.

Members of the Lebowakgomo Crime Intelligence Unit teamed up with the Westenburg Detectives and Visible Policing Unit to conduct an intelligence-driven operation that led to the arrest of four men.

The police were led to a residential area in Disteneng outside Polokwane, where they discovered four large solar panels valued at thousands of rand in the group’s possession.

Upon investigation the men could not say where these panels came from and was immediately arrested on the scene.

Investigations to determine the origin of the solar panels, as well as more information about the men that were apprehended are still underway.

The suspects will appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court in the near future, facing charges of possession of suspected stolen properties.

Further charges may be added as police investigations unfold.
