Mother and son in court for husband’s murder

Reckson Mponyokiseni Tshimbevha (45) was beaten to death with a panga after visiting a local tavern on October 16.

LIMPOPO- A mother and her son appeared in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court last Tuesday after being accused of a murder following an incident of domestic violence on October 16.

Police responded to an incident at about 02:30 and when they arrived on the scene at Manamani village just outside Thohoyandou, they discovered a man who had been beaten to death with a panga.

Fhatuwani Mulaudzi and her son, Tsireledzo Mulaudzi appeared in court on a charge of murder following the incident in which Reckson Mponyokiseni Tshimbevha (45) was killed after visiting a local tavern.

He and his wife were said to have been intoxicated when a quarrel between them ensued. It is said that the argument ended in Mulaudzi taking the panga, and attacking her husband.

Her son, who doesn’t stay with them but visited the family that night however later handed himself over to the police.

The Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court postponed the matter to October 27 for further police investigation and for the two to get legal representation.

Acting police spokesperson in Vhembe, Sgt Vuledzani Dathi confirmed that an argument between the spouses resulted in the one’s death.
