The first woman to win the Review Gholf Challenge

Mohula Chuma demostrated fierce girl power and gave the other contestants a run for their money, as she ultimately went home with the win.

POLOKWANE – Golfer Mohula Chuma made history when she became the first woman to win the Review Golf Challenge last Wednesday.

More than 80 golfers took part in the individual stableford at the Polokwane Golf Club to show off their putting, driving and chipping skills.

The jackpot holes two, five, nine and 11 were drawn by Liano Viviers and the winner was Freek Schutte.

The two clubs for the day were Danie Olwagen, Andries du Plessis, Seletjie Pataki, Francois Goosen (x2), Thabo Shingange, Zack Chuenyane, Owen de Witt, Piet du Toit, Johan Ellis, Liano Viviers, Danie Bouwer (Sr), Callie Ndou, Charles Mdluli, Dirk Visagie, Johan Herbst and Willem Cronje.

Nearest to pin on the fourth hole was Mpho Makena, longest drive on the first hole was Keith Badenhorst and longest drive on the 10th hole was Vhutshilo Mafala.

“As a regular golfer who’s been playing for about three years, I was honestly so humbled by the win. I played golf since 2014, but had to take a break and only started playing again at the end of last year. I didn’t expect the win at all, but now I see that having a coach, you do benefit and it also sharpens your skills,” Chuma said.

Winners:

1. Mohula Chuma with 43 points.

2. Mpho Makena with 43 points count-out.

3. Duane Viljoen with 42 points count-in.

The final Review Golf Challenge is set to take place on November 2.
