Two more Roedtan farm attack suspects arrested in Moletjie

Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of Nico Janse van Rensburg while a manhunt for the remaining two suspects continues.

POLOKWANE – Two additional suspects have been arrested in connection with the Roedtan farm attack last Friday (October 7).

Nico Janse van Rensburg was shot dead after five suspects entered the Derde Kraal farm house pretending to buy milk. The suspects took firearms, cellphones, laptop and other valuables.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said the two suspects were arrested at two different locations in Moletjie.

A 34-year-old man was arrested in Ga-Chokwe village and his accomplice (44) was nabbed in Ga-Mokgokong village in Mmotong wa Perekisi.

“The duo appeared before the Mookgophong Magistrate’s Court today (October 14) and the hunt for the two remaining suspects continues,” he said.

Earlier this week Albert Mangena (33), who was also arrested in Moletji the day after the attack (October 8), appeared in court and was remanded in custody until (October 24).

The provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has appealed to the community to assist the police by providing information on the remaining suspects.
