Road closures in Polokwane ahead of Transport Month launch

Motorists will be affected by road closures in the city on Friday (October 14) due to a parade by law enforcement officials for the launch of Transport Month.

POLOKWANE – Motorists have been advised to avoid Bodenstein Street between Church and Paul Kruger Streets on Friday (October 14) due to the launch of Transport Month.

The spokesperson for the Polokwane Municipality Thipa Selala has advised motorists to use alternative routes as a parade and motorcade by law enforcement officers will precede the launch.

Selala said Bodenstein Street will remain closed for the duration of the proceedings.

“The parade will start from the park next to the SABC building to the parking lot next to Jack Botes Hall and the Department of Transport and Community Safety,” a statement read.

He added that all streets that cross through Landdros Mare, from Excelsior to Bodenstein Street will be partially closed.

“Road users are urged to exercise patience or to use alternative routes. Municipal traffic officers will guide motorists and other road users for the duration of the parade,” he said.
