Six injured in N1 bus and truck collision

A bus and a truck collided on the N1 ring road near Musina this morning injuring six people.

LIMPOPO – The N1 ring road has been reopened following a collision near Musina this morning (October 12).

The Department of Transport’s spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene said six people were injured when a bus and a truck collided.

It is suggested another truck caught alight on impact, however, Chuene could not confirm that to the Polokwane Observer.

“The report I have is that is one truck was involved. Burning might have been caused by impact,” she said.

Chuene added that contravention of a traffic sign at the ring road intersection has been cited as a possible cause for the collision.

“Law enforcement officers and emergency services attended to the scene. Six people who were injured were transported to nearby health facilities for medical attention,” a statement read.
