Limpopo Premier reshuffles executive council

Several MEC's find themselves at the helm of new departments while familiar faces depart as the Premier of Limpopo reshuffles his executive council.

POLOKWANE – The Premier, Chupu Mathabatha has made certain changes to the Executive Council.
According to a media statement by the Office of the Premier, the changes come following further performance assessments of the executive council.
The premier’s spokesperson Willy Mosoma said the reshuffle was done with the view to improve service delivery and enhance corporate governance.
This is Mathabatha’s second cabinet reshuffle in a little over three months.

Florence Radzilani takes over from Polly Boshielo as the MEC for Transport and Community Safety while Nandi Ndalane replaces Dr Dickson Masemola as the Social Development MEC.
Thabo Mokone moves from Economic Development, Environment and Tourism to Agriculture and Rural Development will be replaced by Rodgers Monama. Thandi Moraka will also vacate her position at Sport, Arts and Culture MEC and will be replaced by Nakedi Sibanda-Kekana.
Five of the MECs will remain in their current positions. They are Dr Phophi Ramathuba (Health), Seaparo Sekwati (Treasury) and Basikopo Makamu (Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs), Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya (Education) and Nkakareng Rakgoale (Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure).
Mosoma said the newly appointed MEC’s will be sworn in at the Office of the Premier on Friday (October 7).
