Potego prepares to spread Christmas cheer through charity drive

Potego Mootane of the Timothy Mootane Foundation is on a mission to spread festive cheer and is looking for help from residents in Polokwane.

POLOKWANE – The founder of the Timothy Mootane Foundation (TMF), Potego Mootane is on a mission to make every child’s Christmas and New Year’s dream come true through an upcoming charity drive ahead of the festive season.

Potego wants to do this by donating toys, clothes, shoes, food and other goods to children in need with the help from Polokwane residents.

“I’m making a plea to residents in Polokwane to donate anything they would like to give away to charity. From there, TMF will select orphanages to donate to,” Potego said.

He added that donors are welcome to join them when donating or select shelters of their choice.

TMF hosts annual charity drives which includes a Christmas lunch for orphans and children from disadvantage homes and they also visit schools with their sanitary towel drive.

“Our main goal as an organisation is to eradicate socio-economic issues in communities across the province. When you donate to a charity which is important to you, you not only help them continue their vital work, but you also improve your emotional well-being. It is a win-win situation,” potego said.
