Thornhill, Fauna/Flora Park and other areas to be without power

The Polokwane Municipality's communications manager Matshidiso Mothapo said the outage will be due to load-shedding which will see several areas switched off twice.

POLOKWANE – Several suburbs in the city will be affected by a four-hour power outage from midnight tonight (September 30).

The Polokwane Municipality’s communications manager Matshidiso Mothapo said the outage will be due to load-shedding which will see several areas switched off twice.

“This is due to the fact that the load-shedding changes from midnight into a shift starting on October 1. This will result in the area being turned off twice in succession. The load-shedding will be from 23:00-03:00,” he said.

Areas to be affected include Savannah Mall, Serala View, Thornhill, Fauna/Flora Park East of McDonald Street and surroundings.

“The affected areas are advised to treat all electrical wiring as live during the outage and to switch off all appliances to avoid injury and damage when supply is restored. Electricity challenges can be reported to municipal electrical call centre at 015 023 5490 / 015 023 5707 or WhatsApp at 083 824 9886,” Mothapo said.
