Park-Inn empowers business people on Heritage Day

Park Inn by Radisson Polokwane was the place to be on Saturday as they celebrated South African heritage in style with a fun-filled market.

POLOKWANE – To give owners of small business an opportunity to exhibit and sell their products, Park Inn by Radisson Polokwane hosted a family Heritage Day Market.

Saturday at the event the Park Inn by Radisson Polokwane Marketing and Communications manager Thato Mokoena told Polokwane Observer that aside from providing the community business opportunities, the hotel hosted the event to thank their usual clients.

“We wanted to spoil the community at large as well, this included day visitors, young and old, as it was a family event,” she said.

The goal of the fun social event was for people to get to know each other through business and leisure activities while learning about each other’s diverse cultures and traditions.

Each business person exhibited their stall to possibly sell their products and gain clients.

Children got their faces painted and played on the jumping castles and slides, which were set up by the garden, while DJ Motsumi Sethosa was on the decks to provide all the visitors with a wide variety of stellar music that had the guests and staff members up on their feet showing us their dance moves.

A variety of traditional food was also available on the three different buffet stations where the guests got to taste cultural food such as ngatha (cow-heels), mala-mogodu (tribe) and gravy along with pap and vegetables of their choice at the first station, a lamb potjie for those with a different palate, plus – how do we celebrate “Braai day” in South Africa without a traditional braai buffet?

“We thank everyone for being part of the festivities on Saturday. It was a success indeed and without everyone who was present, this wouldn’t have been possible,” Mokoena said.
