POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality says the effects of Stages 4, 5 and 6 load-shedding has significantly interrupted water treatment processes and pumping of water to the city.
Residents’ frustrations continue as taps run dry in the city and municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said while flow of water is coming into the municipality, other areas are still struggling to receive supply.
“Load-shedding continues to destabalise supply of water within the municipality and this has caused the city and other areas supplied through Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) to get less water while others get nothing,” he said.
Selala added that the municipality’s own resources of water, including drawing points, are also affected by load-shedding, resulting in less water supply
“The municipality continues to work with LNW on the situation and we urge residents to work together in preserving this scarce and important resource,” he said.
