Be a woman with a finisher’s attitude

POLOKWANE – To close off Women’s Month, business women got together to motivate and encourage one another at Library Gardens Auditorium on Friday.

The event’s theme, ‘Have a Finisher’s Attitude’, simply meant that when you start anything in life, whether it’s a project, a business or an event, make sure to give it your all and complete it without excuses.

The event was honoured by local doctors, entrepreneurs, fashion designers and authors. Guest speaker Pheladi Maredi, the co-founder of Optimal Health and Inside Out Aesthetics, was the first to speak and she shared what it took to reach success within her businesses.

“Never give up on anything you do. A few years ago, all I had was faith in myself to open and run my own business. I followed my heart and resigned from my governmental job in order to start my own businesses. Today, my companies are still going strong. Never lose hope,” Maredi said.

Entrepreneur and restaurateur Onicca Moloi was the last speaker for the day and shared her past and how she was going through a difficult time in her life, while she had to be strong in her position as a Sport, Arts and Culture MEC.

“I went through a lot to get to where I am today. I walked a very difficult path and eventually got to where I wanted to be. Today I’m proud of what I achieved. When I was seen travelling with the ‘blue lights’ cars I was considered a strong woman, but deep down I had to deal with a lot at home and had to choose family over everything,” she said.

She concluded that she’s now a proud owner of several spas and restaurants in Gauteng and Durban where she specialises with herbs.

To end the programme, poet Karabo ‘Karamel’ Bopape recited a poem in Sepedi that describes a girl who’s roots are in Limpopo.
