Police confirm murder at Concentration Camp Cemetery in Nirvana

A man's body was found inside the cemetery in Agaat Street earlier this morning (August 24).

POLOKWANE – Westenburg station commander Colonel Maimele Pilusa confirmed to Review that a man was murdered this morning (August 24).

“The body of an African male in his early twenties was found with a stab wound inside the Concentration Camp Cemetery in Nirvana at around 09:20. Investigations are underway and no one has been arrested yet,” he added.

POLOKWANE – Sources have confirmed to Review that a man was murdered in Agaat Street earlier this morning (August 24).

A motive for the apparent murder is yet to be determined, but sources close to the investigation revealed the man was stabbed to death.

Review contacted Westenburg station commander Colonel Maimele Pilusa. “I have been alerted to an incident in the area, but cannot confirm if there was indeed a murder. Our officers are on the scene.”

The incident follows a house robbery in Welgelegen, where a fight reportedly ensued between an intruder and the home owner. The intruder was arrested and no serious injuries were reported.

The robbery in General De La Rey Street occurred only a few streets away from where Lindie Oberholzer (52) was murdered in her home in Windermere Way on August 17.

Police are yet to make arrests in the case and have requested those with information to come forward to assist with the investigation.
