[LISTEN] Bendor murder: Polokwane police seek info, suspects

Lindie Oberholzer (52) was reportedly killed inside her house in Windemere Way, Bendor.

POLOKWANE – Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has called on residents to assist in the murder case of Lindie Oberholzer (52).

Oberholzer was reportedly killed inside her house in broad daylight on Wednesday (August 17).

Review journalists were on the scene, where they spoke to one of her neighbours. “I cannot believe this happened in our neighbourhood in broad daylight. I now fear for my life as my vehicle’s back window was smashed by criminals recently. My thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased.”

Provincial police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo later confirmed the murder in Windemere Way, Bendor.

“A manhunt has been launched for an unknown number of suspects. Preliminary police investigations revealed that the victim was apparently hit with a sharp object, but police are yet to determine how the killer(s) gained entry into the house and onto the premises,” Mojapelo explained in a statement.

Hadebe urged those with information to come forward. “Anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) should contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Phillimon Ratsoma, on 072 808 1188 or the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111. Alternatively, contact your nearest police station or send the information via the MySAPS App.”
