Carol takes care of the elderly

The Carol Takes Care Foundation's goal is to visit 100 elderly residents in Vhembe and another 100 in Capricorn this year to make a difference.

LIMPOPO – Carol Mulaudzi wants to make a difference in the lives of elderly people and leave her mark in the Vhembe and Capricorn regions.

After she gained experience from Martha Hofmeyr Old Age Home, Mulaudzi started her own foundation called Carol Takes Care Foundation, which aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and support of elderly citizens. She launched the foundation in April and has two permanent volunteers who are always ready to lend a helping and loving hand toward the elderly.

Mulaudzi encourages girls, especially from the rural areas, to look after their elderly and added her foundation’s goal is to visit 100 elderly residents in Vhembe and another 100 in Capricorn this year to make a difference.

“I will help all elderly Limpopo residents to enhance their well-being and create social, economic, and environmental conditions in which they can thrive in their health. The foundation aims to provide world-class elderly care satisfaction and professional service, as well as to improve confidence in the elderly community by giving them the necessary support. As a foundation, we believe the elderly are important and that the world would be a mess without them,” she said.

Mulaudzi told CV one of Carol Takes Care Foundation’s goals is to enrich the community’s knowledge about care for the elderly with programmes such as workshops under the watchful eye of supervised professionals.

“We will make our community one that bears the light for elderly care via training and persistence to reach high-quality excellence in taking care of our senior citizens and providing them a good quality of life. We hope to pay it forward and teach our children to get involved in community work and outreach programmes that will develop local communities,” she explained.
