“I served as a councillor in the Thulamela Municipality since 2006 and during the establishment of the Collins Chabane Municipality in 2016, I was given the responsibility of councillor in the portfolio committee on finance. In the local government election in 2021, I was again elected as PR councillor where I was given the responsibility for the portfolio head of technical services,” he said.

He said he would like the community to instill confidence in him and his ability to render services in all 38 wards.

“This will be done in accelerated manner in honour of good foundational work pioneered by former mayor Moses Maluleke,” he added.

He further called on the communities to support the municipality in their efforts to better the lives of its people.

His election came after the murder of the former mayor at Xikundu village on July 21 in which Moses Maluleke was gunned down.
