Two more arrested for murder of Collins Chabane mayor

Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said the duo were arrested in Thohoyandou and Saselamani respectively. 

LIMPOPO – The team assembled to probe the murder of the Collins Chabane mayor Moses Maluleke and the attempted murder of his son have made yet another breakthrough.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said two additional suspects, aged 46 and 47 were arrested in Thohoyandou and Saselamani respectively.

“The suspects will appear before the Malamulele Magistrate’s Court on Monday (August 15) and face charges of conspiracy to commit murder, murder, attempted murder and possession of illegal firearm and ammunition,” he said.

Meanwhile, Shumani Nemadodzi (47) and Avhatakali Mulaudzi (42) abandoned bail in the Malamulele Magistrates’ Court on August 10.

Nemadodzi and Mulaudzi, who remain in custody, were arrested shortly after Maluleke’s murder on July 21.

Maluleke was shot and killed outside his home in Xikundu Village during an attack in which his teenage son was injured.

Three suspects were initially arrested, however, one was released after investigations could not positively link him to the incident.
